Larsonite is a distinct type of petrified bog wood only found near the tiny town of McDermitt, straddling the Oregon/Nevada border.  Known as Gary Green Jasper or Larsonite, it is loved for its attractive shades of blue and green, and well preserved wood grain patterns.

My Jasper for Jasper Collection was created in response to the devastating wildfires in Jasper, Alberta, in July 2024, that ravaged the small, picturesque townsite and over 33,000 hectares within the national park.  Displacing both people and wildlife, the fires left homes leveled, businesses in ash and a community reeling.  Early estimates by the municipality suggest homes and businesses valued at a total of $283 million were destroyed.  The Jasper Wildfire Complex is the most devastating fire to hit the national park in over a century.  It will take years, if not decades to recover, but for those of us that cherish this magical place that has given so much to us, we will be there to give back to her.

I will be donating proceeds from every piece in my Jasper for Jasper Collection to The Jasper Community Team Society.
